MINISTRIES

Ministries Rooted in Faith. Lives Forever Changed

At Kanakuk Ministries, we believe true transformation happens when faith meets purpose, challenge meets compassion, and community meets the Gospel. Our ministries are more than programs. They are life-stage journeys. We walk alongside students, families, and leaders to develop I’m Third character, model discipleship, and send them out to serve. Whether you come for a week during the summer, spend a school-year training in leadership, or travel across oceans in service, what you do here matters eternally.

CORE MINISTRIES

Family Testimony - The Mathews

Kanakuk Kamps is our summer camp ministry, a place where thousands of boys and girls, ages 6–18, come every year to learn more about God, build lifelong friendships, and discover Kingdom purpose. At Kamp, our campers (we call them ‘Kampers’) unplug from daily routines and enter into a world of adventure: ziplines, archery, lake activities, team sports, epic parties, college-athlete coaching, and so much more.

Each Kamp is staffed by caring, Christ-following leaders who are equipped not only in safety and fun but also in spiritual mentoring. Every night ends with worship. Every lesson is rooted in Scripture. Every counselor is investing in lives. Leaders are trained beforehand in discipleship, safety, cabin care, and spiritual care so that the impact is both fun and formative.

We offer sessions from 1-Week adventures to 4-Week immersive programs, specialty camps, family camps that draw generations together, and retreat adventures that restore relationships between dads and sons, moms and daughters, and spouses. At the heart of it all: helping people find their identity in Christ, grow in courage, and step into leadership in their homes and communities.

Since the late 1970s, Kanakuk Haiti has existed as an outward expression of our belief in mission and service. Kanakuk Ministries established Kanakuk Haiti, in partnership with Cross International, to provide the children of Haiti with education, daily nutrition, and a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ. Over 2,500 students, 198 full-time staff salaries, plus 38 cooks and school guards are impacted by Kanakuk Haiti in 10 schools.

For many, adventure is where faith becomes real. Kanakuk Expeditions isn’t just about extreme terrain; it’s about extreme faith. Over days of rigorous adventure travel, rafting, backpacking, and taking in the splendor of God’s creation, individuals are inspired and stretched both mentally and spiritually.

Each expedition is carefully designed: varying lengths, difficulty levels, and location (mountains, rivers, canyons, forests, ice caps). No matter the setting, participants are accompanied by seasoned leaders who lean into Scripture, spiritual rhythms, and community. God’s creation becomes both classroom and chapel. When you are stripped of distraction, dependence on God becomes clear.

KILT is Kanakuk Ministries’ immersive leadership and training experience for ministry and camping leaders across the globe. Delegates representing youth-serving organizations from dozens of countries come to Branson each year for an intensive, hands-on deep dive into the “how-to” of Christian camping and discipleship ministry.

KILT is not a classroom lecture series. It is an apprenticeship model, placing international leaders inside the rhythms of Kanakuk to learn by observing, practicing, and implementing. Delegates shadow staff, participate in leadership workshops, and gain practical skills in both operations and ministry. They leave not only inspired, but equipped to replicate proven methods in their own nations.

Link Academy blends excellence in athletics with excellence in character. For student-athletes, not only is skill development key, but so is shaping the heart. Link offers rigorous basketball training, strength and conditioning, competition, and athletic coaching, all under the mentorship of coaches who prioritize faith, perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.

The academic, spiritual, and leadership components are tightly interwoven to ensure that what happens on the court translates into virtue off the court. Many Link alumni carry the values learned here into professional sports teams, colleges, their families, and their communities not simply as athletes, but as leaders of integrity.

PARTNER MINISTRIES

Over the years, God has used Kanakuk to birth ministries that now serve under their own leadership, yet remain connected by shared values: leadership, discipleship, compassion, and Kingdom purpose. These partners carry forward Kanakuk’s heritage while forging their own paths.

KANAKUK INSTITUTE

Originally born out of our desire to equip college graduate students for deeper service, the Institute provides structured, immersive training in leadership and theological foundations. Though fully independent today, its roots in love, Scripture, and spiritual mentoring reflect Kanakuk’s heart.

KLIFE

Founded by Kanakuk leaders and Kamp families with a vision for student ministries in communities nationwide, KLIFE works alongside churches and families in the community to teach and encourage kids to be strong in the Lord in spite of all the negative pressures they face as teenagers. KLIFE networks kids from different churches, and those without a church home, to build positive, Godly relationships that can withstand the negative peer pressure so prevalent in today’s youth culture.

KIDS ACROSS AMERICA (KAA)

Kids Across America is a Christian sports camp committed to transforming urban America with the Gospel message. We do so using sports and urban arts as a platform to share the Gospel with youth and their leaders from all across the country.  Although fully independent, KAA’s beginnings are intertwined with Kanakuk’s legacy of outreach
