Our Story

Kanakuk began in 1926 as a small summer camp in the Ozark Mountains. What started as a simple summer experience has grown into a movement that has impacted hundreds of thousands of campers, families, and leaders for more than a century. 

Through every season, from the Great Depression to world wars to shifting cultures and new generations, one truth has remained: Kanakuk is a place where the Gospel is boldly proclaimed, lives are changed, and disciples are made. 

Today, Kanakuk Ministries stands for a family of ministries that carry forward this legacy: world-class summer camps, global missions, leadership training, and discipleship programs that extend across the nation and beyond.

Our Mission

Kanakuk Ministries exists to equip next generation leaders. We are passionate about sharing the Gospel and equipping leaders who will impact the world for God’s Kingdom.

Our Vision

To evangelize and equip the next generation to reach the world for Christ.

This mission and vision are not slogans. They are lived daily in the laughter of a cabin of nine-year-olds learning Scripture together, in the faith of a counselor leading devotions, in the courage of a college athlete choosing integrity, in the sacrifice of a student across the globe.

Kanakuk Ministries is led by a dedicated team of men and women who love the Lord and are committed to stewarding this ministry with integrity, vision, and faith. 

Our leadership team serves with a heart for discipleship, a commitment to safety, and a desire to see lives changed by the Gospel. They are pastors, coaches, counselors, and leaders, united by a common calling: to shepherd Kanakuk into its next century of Kingdom impact.
